Finnish is not hard because it is strange. It is hard because most courses teach it as a set of rules instead of as the language you need at the shop, at Kela and at work on Monday morning. DailyFinnish teaches it the other way round.
Everything here is free. Start with your level and your goal, then follow the path:
- Start here: a five-minute level test and a study plan built around your goal, whether that is small talk, a job, a permanent residence permit or citizenship.
- The course: one lesson per DailyFinnish video, from A1 to B1, each with the transcript, the words, the grammar point, exercises and a tip about life in Finland.
- Grammar: the reference you come back to. Verb types, cases, consonant gradation, sentence types and spoken Finnish, each page with examples and exercises.
- Vocabulary and phrases: themed lists with audio and flashcards, and what to actually say at the doctor, the daycare and the landlord's door.
- Verbs, nouns and words: every form of the common words, in written and spoken Finnish.
- YKI test and Finnish for residence and citizenship: what level the law requires since 2026, how to prove it, and mock tests.
